The Business Innovation Group was established in April 2007, its mission being to develop competitive and profitable businesses. The new group actively focuses on areas of high growth that will form the core of MC's future operations, while staying abreast of dynamic advances in technology and changes in global industry.
The group covers five major business fields, its organizations consisting of one center and four divisions. The Innovation Center focuses on new growth industries such as nanotechnology and the electronics industry, while the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Business, Human Care Business, and Media Consumer Business Divisions utilize knowledge and experience in existing fields of industry to aggressively pursue high-growth strategies. Meanwhile, the New Energy and Environment Business Division combines operations that were previously handled separately by different business groups, its aim being to develop business ahead of the market.
