In addition to its six Business Groups (Industrial Finance, Logistics & Development; Energy; Metals; Machinery; Chemicals; and Living Essentials), MC has added two new Groups, the Business Service Group and the Global Environment Business Development Group. Through these organizations and their respective business investments work to develop business within their related fields. Also, aiming to quickly pick up on new business opportunities, MC has established the Corporate Development Section. In addition to this, the Corporate Organization provides management support services.
Business Service Group / Global Environment Business Development Group are overseen directly by the President and its activities include the planning and execution of companywide, medium- to long-term strategies, follow-up on the development of cutting-edge technologies, and provision of support to each Business Group's development-related operations.
As a new industrial innovator, the Industrial Finance, Logistics & Development Group will create new industrial finance models that respond to rapid environmental and structural changes in and outside Japan by assembling and merging its knowledge in finance, development and construction, and distribution.
In the Energy Business Group, we develop and invest in oil and gas projects. At the same time, we deal in products relating to crude oil, petroleum, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), and carbon.
In the Metals Group, we have built a unified value chain from raw materials upstream to end products downstream, and we engage in trading and investment.
In the Machinery Group, we are building and expanding the value chain by applying industry knowledge and capabilities to a wide range of areas. These include project development, networking and financing.
In the Chemicals Group, we supply essential chemicals and chemical products to numerous industries. These chemicals include raw materials for synthetic resins and fibers, chemical fertilizers, inorganic raw materials, industrial salts, plastics, electronics materials, and life science products.
In the Living Essentials Group, we handle food commodities and products, textiles, and various lifestyle-oriented general merchandise. We develop businesses that support the daily lives of people-primarily focusing on clothing, food, and housing.
